Adam Newman

Owner

I have gained a wide range of business experience since I began my career in banking with Barclays Business 10 years ago. I worked as a Relationship Manager with Small and Medium Sized business owners for nearly 4 years. I was then approached to join firm of financial advisors, based in Bristol and became a Corporate Financial Advisor, again working with small and medium sized business owners. I have now been with the firm for 6 years.

It is our vision to provide a homely, safe and educationally nourishing environment that offers the children welcomed to our nursery, the perfect setting for their development. We are excited by the prospect of a bright future for a nursery which has existed for more than 50 years.

As a parent to 2 children - our eldest is Matilda who is 3 years old and our youngest, Scarlett is nearly 2 – I am fully aware of work, family and other pressures we are all under.it is our desire at The Lodge to support you as parents and help to give your children the best possible start to their precious lives.

Nursery Manager

I have worked in childcare for 14 years and at The Lodge site for 7 years. I have worked my way up from Childcare Practioner to Deputy Nursery manager in 7 years. I am very proud to have taken the post  of Nursery Manager in 2014.

I have gained many qualifications, including NVQ level 4 in EarlyYears, NVQ Level 5  in Management, as well as certificates in safeguarding, SENCO, Paediatric First aid and Level 2 Food Hygiene.

Assistant Manager & Early Learner (Sunshine) Room Manager

I have worked in Childcare for over 16 years and The Lodge site since 2008. I initially volunteered in my local playgroup and fell in love with the work involved. I was very pleased to be promoted to Assistant Manager in 2014 and really enjoy my new role. Throughout my career I have achieved my NVQ level 3 in Childcare, NVQ Team Leader, Child Protection, Paediatric First Aid and level 2 Food Hygiene.

I have always wanted to work in the childcare sector and started by gaining a lot of experience for being a ‘mothers help’ looking after her baby twins until they were 3 years old. From here I went on to complete my training in Early Years and Education Level 3.

I have worked at the Lodge site for 7 years starting as a nursery assistant and working my way up to a room manager and now part of the management team as 3rd in Charge. I have also completed my NVQ Level 2 in Team Leaderships, Food Hygiene Child Protection and Paediatric First Aid.

Baby (Caterpillars & Butterflies) Room Manager

I have worked in childcare for 6 years and have worked at the Lodge site for 4 years. I studied my Level 3 in Early Years and Education at college and then moved on to become a nanny for 2 years before starting as a nursery assistant and worked my way up to Room Manager. I have also completed my NVQ Level 2 in Team Leaderships, Food Hygiene Child Protection and Paediatric First Aid.

Reception (Rainbow) Room Manager

I have worked in Childcare for nearly 22 years, all of which have been at the same site at The Lodge. I started as a Nursery assistant and worked my way up to Room Manager in Pre School, which I adore. I have achieved NVQ Level 3 in Childcare and NVQ level 2 in team leadership, Child protection and Paediatric First Aid.
